Description

Since 1 January 2020, CO2 emission regulations for delivery and light articulated vehicles analogous to those in the EU have been in force in Switzerland. With these new regulations, Swiss car importers are required to reduce the emissions produced by delivery and light articulated vehicles when registered for the first time in Switzerland. Initially, CO2 emissions were to be reduced to an average of 147 grams of CO2 per kilometre by the end of 2022. However, as the method for measuring CO2 emissions has since been changed, this target value has now been raised to 186 g CO2/km. Importers exceeding this target will be charged with a penalty.

Brief report on the implementation results of the previous year, including aggregated key figures. The data basis is comprised of registration data (MOFIS), technical data (TARGA type approval database and data collected by FEDRO) and corresponding data on registered major importers.

Legal basis: CO2 Ordinance, Art. 36, para. 3
